TDI Intro to Cave Diver

The “TDI Intro to Cave Diver” program is the first step towards cave diving, following the certification of “TDI Cavern Diver”. This course teaches the essential techniques, procedures, and protocols necessary to dive safely in underground environments, while adhering to cautious gas management and safe penetration limits. It is a prerequisite to access the “TDI Full Cave Diver” course.

We will leave the illuminated area to engage in the cave itself. The concepts covered in the cavern diving course, such as placement (considering the team, the line, and the environment), positioning, communication, and awareness, will take on greater significance as we venture deeper into total darkness.

Students will learn to plan more complex dives, considering the following aspects:

  • The application of the 1/6 rule, as well as consideration of greater penetration distances and potential delayed exits
  • Following a continuous and permanent guideline without distance restrictions
  • The possibility of team separation and the loss or break of the guideline
  • Tracking the route and time using "RUN TIME"
